Tools for nonprofits to amplify their impact
Going live and broadcasting your own video content doesn’t require a professional touch anymore! With a range of free livestream software tools available, creating and sharing professional-looking videos on a budget has become easier than ever. Popular options include:
- Facebook Live: Facebook Live is a popular live streaming platform that allows users to broadcast to their Facebook audience. The tool is free to use and offers features such as real-time engagement with viewers, the ability to schedule and promote broadcasts in advance, and the option to save videos to your profile or page after the livestream is over.
- Vimeo: Vimeo is a video-sharing platform that offers live streaming capabilities for its users. The tool offers a free version with limited features, including up to three simultaneous viewers and 500MB of storage per week.
- YouTube: YouTube offers a live streaming feature called “YouTube Live“. The tool is free to use and offers features such as real-time chat with viewers, the ability to schedule and promote broadcasts in advance, and the option to save videos to your channel after the livestream is over.
- Streamlabs: Streamlabs is a livestreaming software that offers free and paid versions. The free version offers features such as the ability to broadcast to multiple platforms simultaneously, custom alerts, and chatbot integration.
- OBS Studio: OBS Studio is a free and open-source live-streaming software that offers features such as custom transitions and filters, real-time audio and video mixing, and the ability to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously.
Personally, I’ve only used Vimeo and YouTube for livestreams. Be sure to research the best tool for YOUR needs. It all depends on your specific demands and preferences.
It’s also worth noting that the features offered in the free versions of these livestream software tools may be limited compared to the paid versions — so be sure to read the fine print.
